Melissa Ortega, Interim Associate Chief Health Officer, PA-C is a graduate of University of St. Francis and is certified as a physician assistant. She is a fluent Spanish speaker and holds certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support for Health Care Providers and Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers. Ms. Ortega joined Tepeyac in 2015 and provides direct care to patients as a family medicine provider. She serves in close cooperation with Dr. Sarah Rowan (infectious disease specialist), the behavioral health team and medical case management during biweekly HIV/AIDS clinics. In addition, Melissa is currently participating in the implementation process of identifying Clinica Tepeyac as a patient centered medical home. She also enjoys hiking, lifting weights, and sitting in the sun on her spare time.
